A Roadmap for What's Next
For students with disabilities and their families, the transition from high school to adulthood can feel uncertain. There is no single right answer - only the answer that fits each individual.
At EmployAbility Services, we work alongside students, families, schools, and partner agencies to discover what meaningful community participation looks like for each person we serve. Whether that means exploring interests, building work skills, or stepping into a job, we meet students where they are and support them as they move toward their own goals.
We collaborate closely with local school districts, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and families to align each student's path with their strengths, preferences, and IEP transition plan. Student services are funded through partner agencies, so there is no direct cost to families.
Job Foundations
(Ages 19–20, DDA-Eligible)
Some students need time and space to explore who they are and what they enjoy before deciding what comes next. Job Foundations is a structured discovery program where we work one-on-one with students, trying different job tasks and skills to help them discover what fits.
Our employment specialists observe students at school, in the community, and during other activities, taking note of how they communicate, approach tasks, and respond to new situations. That understanding becomes the foundation and roadmap for employment - helping the student, their family, and their team make informed choices about the future.
Students in Job Foundations will:

Helps determine whether a student may benefit from School-to-Work transition services or ongoing supported employment after graduation.

Assists in identifying the supports needed for a successful transition from school to employment.

Builds a roadmap for a successful transition to adulthood.
School to Work
(Ages 19–22)
For students in their final year of school, School to Work is about building a direct path from the classroom to a real job in the community. We coordinate with IEP teams and local employers to find paid employment that matches each student's emerging skills and interests.
Students do not just observe or volunteer; they work. With hands-on guidance from an employment specialist, they explore careers, interview for positions, and receive coaching at their actual job site. The goal is for each student to be employed before graduation, with ongoing support in place to help them thrive.
Students in School to Work will:
